I guess my big question is...when talking about non-tourney table chips; Why do the casinos continue to produce lots of LE chips and special issues if they are so intent to avoid shrinkage of supply. I know there has been some efforts made of late to prevent "theft" of chips (Binion's new $1 etc.) But when you look at the sheer number of chips issued over the past 20 years by the likes of Palms, QQQQ, Harrah's and so forth, I can't believe that the casinos are not aware that they are creating an item that will be desirable to keep for the millions of tourists and casino enthusiasts out there (what is the profit margin for a casino when a $5 or higher chip is taken?). Examples such as how Bally's controlled the Mikohn Safe-Jack chips when they were live versus how they allowed other house chips walk out the door seems to indicate that there is a double standard and some casinos are working both sides of the legal street.
