In the running for CCGTCC Vice President

It is with great pleasure that I accept the nomination for Vice President of the Casino Chip and Gaming Token Collector’s Club and ask for your encouragement and support.

For those of you who don’t know me, I would like to tell you a little about myself. I’ve lived in Los Angeles for the past 20 years and I’ve spent my career working in the entertainment business. I’ve spent 32 of the last 38 years with Sony Pictures. I had always been fascinated with the compelling history of Nevada and, since I attended an annual film industry convention in Las Vegas since the mid 1980’s, I started picking up chips from all the casinos I visited around then. I discovered and joined the CC>CC in 1999 and became a life member in 2002.

I’ve always been passionate about the hobby and the Club and looked for a way to give some time and energy back. In 2004, I became the Club Auction co-chair, and I’ve continued on and off for the past 10 years, producing the auction catalog which I always infuse with a touch of humor. In 2008, a group of three of us bought THE CHIP RACK and since then I’ve worked on the book on a daily basis. In 2009, David Spragg and I added our good friend, and former Club President, David Sarles to the group, becoming SSS Publishing, and added THE GAMING TABLE to our literary dynasty.

I spent two terms as Vice President of the CC>CC, having been first elected in 2007. It was a great fit from the start… I’ve been a member of committees and boards in my business life for many years and the skills translated well. Chemistry between the members can be tremendously important, and members who bring ego or fear of lack of conviction or discipline can be disruptive and reduce the effectiveness of the organization. It’s also crucial that the members of the board have a healthy respect for each other and the ability to compromise and work through differences.

I’ve decided to accept the nomination and run for Vice President of the CC>CC because I feel would like to again make a difference to the Club as a member of the Board Of Directors. I believe I would be an excellent fit with the current board as I have excellent relationships mutual respect with all of the members.
