SO...I got my hands on a Moulin Rouge $5 can-can the other day. The problem was that someone in days gone by had glued it into a key-chain bezel. I already had a pretty nice example of the chip so I decided to see if I could remove the bezel from this one.. Numerous attempts were made with little success. Someone really didnt want that chip to come out. Finally I had hoped to break the bond between the glue and the chip or the bezel. My engineering classes of days gone by taught me that the thermal expansion properties of the metal should be greater than a clay composite chip. Commence freezing and then flash heating the object. Things are going well and I could actually hear what I assume was the glue being shattered. Just a little more heat and......*poof* the presence of a grey-white puff of smoke told me I had pushed the temp too high. a bit of smoldering, a smell that I will forever associate with failure and I am left with.....this. I am sad, in retrospect, I guess having a nice chip that is only half visible is better than the horror now looking back at me.
