We've had a couple of counterfeit casino chip problems here in Kansas City.
In 2008, at Argosy Casino in Riverside Missouri had someone cashing in $100 chips (he was later acquitted which I just learned today in my research!)

A couple years ago I had bought into a game with a couple $100 chips at a different casino in Kansas City. The pit boss scrutinized the chips very closely before accepting them. I asked what was up and they told me someone was "painting" chips and trying to pass them off as $100 chips. I never heard anything on the news about this particular situation however.
