John,
I have no doubt YOU are relaying what YOU were told by this man. However, the 17th or last issue was SOLD OUT at least the $1.00, $5.00 and $25.00. When I went to the Sands the day before they closed I asked to purchase a few more of the orange and blue $1.00. I was told everything was gone. I asked to speak to the cage manager. She came out and asked what I needed. I handed her a $10.00 bill and asked if I could purcahse ANY lower denomination chips. She said for me to get them off of the tables as she had none left to sell from the cage. I increased my toke to $20.00. She smiled and said I was kind but there was nothing left in the cage. Period.
Now John, I sure would like to know where that last issue of lower denominations were stored. Better yet, how did they get out of the cage? I am sure gaming and the IRS would also like to know since cage accountablility would had to be off BIG TIME by as many as would fit on those pallets.
Perhaps the Venetian general manager was pulling your leg. By the way, why would a GM from a hotel like the Venetian care about an LE chip program? One would think he would have more important things to worry about.
Best, Jim
