Mom and I pulled into town the following year (1951), and stayed in a room a few doors down from Harolds Club, on the second floor, before we moved into a room at Mrs Mack's place at 555 Imperial Blvd. for the summer. I was 9-years-old and remember every single day as we walked down town quite often so mom could do the rounds collecting matchbooks, cards, napkins and anything else she could get her hands on (no chips). We met Ava Gardner at the post office one day and at a lawyer's office on another.. and one day while I was waiting outside of the Riverside while mom stepped inside, a cab pulled up and Frank Sinatra got out. I knew who he was, instantly...
Thanks for the post...
