... there's nothing wrong with sniping, from the bidder's perspective. It's the way eBay has the system set up and anyone who bids within the rules has nothing to be ashamed of (and those outbid have no legitimate complaint).
As I have said before, however, it think the system sucks. I agree with Archie that it does not always provide a true reflection of either value or what the bidders might have been willing to bid if given another opportunity.
I have suggested to eBay a couple of times that they implement a deadline extension system of some kind (10 minutes after the last bid perhaps) and have never even received a courtesy reply.
Simple answer: bid what you're willing to spend. If you get outbid, buy something else. Too many chips, too little $$$. ----- jim o\-S
