A friend just sent me five of the new $1 Borgata chips, the ones with the "B" on the edges. I noticed that all five of the chips had the stripes roughly aligned at 12 o'clock, 3 o'clock, 6 o'clock, and 9 o'clock with respect to the inlay. This yielded 2 variations, one with the "$1" on the top left and one with the "$1" on the top right. (Same position on the reverse).
Were these 5 chips just an anomaly or do all of the new $1 Borgata chips have one of these 2 types of alignments? I've never seen a chip where the inlays were applied so precisely on non-clay chips. Maybe someone with access to more $1 Borgata chips can help verify this Type 1 and Type 2 variation. After all, five chips isn't a very large sample size.
