I have harvested 1000's of chips over the past 30 years from all over the world, and never had any problems. I guess I was due! Went with a buddy to TJ. Mexico, then to the Caliente casino, (I thought slots only), but one BJ table open.This is a small casino 99% slots. Whow, I was excited. Yery different way to get chips and cash chips. You must go to the cage and pay your funds and they give you a ticket.Then you take the ticket to BJ table and get chips. To cash out you go back to cashier with your chips and cash in for dollars. Well, I cashed in 50% of my chips and had put the rest in my pocket and a couple in my shoe. (went to the restroom to do this on way to cage). I then started to walk out front door, but was stopped by two big Mafia looking mexican guys, they said it was against the law in Mexico to steal chips. and they were going to call the TJ police and I would go to jail. I couldn't believe this. Told them I collected chips and had no idea I couldn't take a few for my collection. I told them I was very sorry, and would give them the chips for free, then pulled them out of my pocket and gave them the chips. They said after a pause,OK but never try this again, I said no way and left.I got one slot card out of a empty machine, had it in my shirt pocket, no problem. Just very glad I'm not posting from thr TJ jail.
