you sir are starting to tick me off. I sent you a courteous email stating that I was sorry and I'd pay for the items. I have yet to hear an email reply, and instead you choose to drag my name through the mud on a public forum. Instead of handling it privately, you jump the gun and declare do not deal with this guy. You're trying to find support through a message board and but your facts are CLEARLY skewed.
So let's see what others have to say after I share some of these FACTS.
Here's my email to Steve after he posted the do not deal with me rant.
Sorry about that. I actually didn't see your post about the $1 each + $0.50 shipping. I have dealt with many people on the board without any issues. When I saw your price, it initially seemed too high. Now I know.
In my defense, what I deemed too high was the shipping cost. All of my dealings on the board, I have never experienced extra cost beyond postage. Is it reasonable to charge $2.50 to ship 5 key cards? IMO, no. Assuming you mail it first class in a regular envelope, it should cost you no more than $0.86.
Bottom line is you stated $0.50 shipping for each item. I'll honor that and send you a no fee paypal when I hear back from you.
Thanks. And good luck with your surgery.
BTW, I'm ok with it but some might take offense to one asking if another is from a different country based solely on name. If I was out of the US, I would clearly state that in my first email inquiry.
I still haven't heard back from Steve to pay for the items. I thought the issue was dead when he deleted his initial post. I really want to think great, I can pay for the items and it's over with. Was I wrong as this diatribe was posted, again trying to fan the flames when I clearly stated I would pay his price.
Speaking of the diatribe, let me correct some of the claims.
1. I attempted to deal with it ("pay up and move on") but you decided not to reply to my email, and post on the message board.
2. "I immediately marked the original post with those items as sold." What??? You trying to be funny here? You posted sold to SOMEONE ELSE wanting to buy a few individual cards. And to boot, you REFUSED to sell four cards when you stated that you would sell them for $1+0.50 shipping each. Your words, not mine. Where is your accountability!!! You backed out of that deal!!! Your word is "EVERYTHING". Proof:
3-5. I said I missed the $1+0.50 shipping each wording. Whether wrong or not, my assumption of combined shipping or shipping discount is based on experience from EVERY other transaction here on the chipboard and most dealings on ebay. So if I bought 10 or 15 cards, you would honestly charge $5.00 or $7.50 to ship them? That's crazy and downright robbery! Marketing? Seriously? You discount everyone's intelligence with that statement.
6. I didn't mark on your posting. And I don't unless specifically asked by the seller. Not sure why you even mention this.
7. Now you're crossing the line here. I essentially called you a racist? I said I had no issue with you asking me if I was in the US but someone else might. If my name was John Smith, would you think to ask where it was being mailed? You're telling me you ask every buyer directly if it's being shipped domestically? It's one thing to mention the shipped price is US and foreign shipments will carry an extra cost, but you ASSUMED that the specific question was necessary.
8. I've dealt with Reggie also. Good guy, good post.
9. So I was supposed to ASSUME you're going to use a bubble mailer? Clearly you haven't experienced buys and sells of cards. Smaller deals (i.e. 5 cards) are typically mailed in regular envelopes. Many others can attest to that. And along your train of thought, if you stated in your post that they would be mailed parcel instead of first class, then different story.
10. Chuck is correct. I should pay the agreed price. I've clearly stated that more than once but I have yet to get a confirmation from the other party.
Lastly, I'd like to mention that at one point I considered joining the CC>CC. I appreciate that the board is available to non-members, and I've had many excellent dealings here. However, the too often bickering and negativity on the board dissuaded me from becoming a member.
Happy Thanksgiving all!
