I think there was a typo in your questions.

Anyway, the process (and the material) used to make the square edged smooth centers (which are a much harder brittle plastic) was not pioneered by Bud Jones until after all the casinos for which Osborne had chips made had closed.
So all the smooth center ones listed as counterfeit have to be so grin

Similarly, although it is possible that smooth centers existed while those casinos were open, the harder square edged chips did not.
Even in your scan it is clear the left chip has square edge and the right is bevelled.

Furthermore, you will notice subtle color differences between the real and counterfeit chips for all issues. These have been checked against the notched BJ samples which GPI hold (including notched counterfeits) and confirmed as described.
