Indeed there was a $5 Golden Goose chip. A single chip surfaced and was placed in one of the club's convention auctions. Howdy Herz was organizing the auctions and publishing the catalogs at that time.
The chip sold for BIG money after spirited bidding, to Gene Grossblatt, a serious collector from California. Howdy also produced a framed picture of the chip, which was auctioned as well. As I recall, Kregg bought it for Howdy, and they probably still have it.
After Gene died, the Golden Goose chip was retained by his family, though it might have sold privately since then. Gene was a good guy.
The Golden Goose chip is pictured in Camp&Wells book, and also listed in TCR (as a Z7 value). But I've never heard of another one surfacing. For $5 face chips, it's got to be one of the most valuable non-Strip chips around.
