1937 Ford Model 78 Deluxe 4 Door Slantback Sedan
Hood Ornament
Front View
1937 Ford was the first year for headlights mounted in the fenders,
the 37's reflected strong influence of the classy Lincoln Zephyr. The
grill had horizontal bars with a center vertical bar, and V shape into
the hood area. In 1937, Ford offered both the slant back and trunk
back sedan with an external lid. The 221 CID flathead was further
refined with a higher capacity water pump, larger insert bearings
and cast alloy pistons. This car indentified as the deluxe model with
chrome trim components including windshield frame. This car est.
restored 10 years ago from a very good fit original western car.
The 221 CID flathead engine has plenty of power and runs very good.
The Goodyear ribbed whitewalls provide an excellent contrast with the
dark red body and chrome windshield. As Ford advertised that year,
"Big car comfort and big car proformance", tuned and ready to tour.
