Did you know you can track most USPS mail these days, but NOT REGISTERED MAIL!

This was a surprise to me. I found out by attempting to track the progress of a Registered 1st Class Package that I sent last week. The only info from the on-line tracking program is for acceptance at my local post office and at the Portland, OR sort facility. Apparently that's all I will see until the package is delivered.

I did call my local post office and the clerk there phoned to check. Their registered manual logs do show the package is in motion, but I couldn't get dates or where it was currently.

Package cost me $20 to send! I wish there was an alternative for shipping valuable items. I know, they are bankrupt, but still...
