I spotted these today at a local coin shop.
An interesting grouping....
The Nevada Hotel, Clarion 500 NCV and Bally's 500 NCV are pristine, sans any use at all!
The Valley Inn is stickered on one side and hot-stamped "$5.00" on the reverse. The stickered side has dirt mixed with sticker goo around the inlay's circumference and the hot-stamp foil is completely gone. TCR indicates this to be a "MOD" (modified) chip. What was the modification? Are all in this condition?
The cream colored, plastic inter-locking chip appears to be commemorating the NCOA (Non-Commissioned Officers Association) Convention at the Dunes in 1978. The NCOA is still around and had another Convention this past July in Las Vegas.
Lastly, I picked up these two, round MOP items. Neither one has anything carved into the center (both sides). Are these "blanks" waiting to be carved? Or are these finished items? Not sure if I can call them "chips" or not?
Thanks for looking!
Jim
