Today's "Chips of the Day" come from the "CAL-VADA LODGE" which was located just off Highway 28 in Crystal Bay, on the north shore of the Lake. Originally opened as the "La-Vada Lodge" back in 1927, this location became the "CAL-VADA LODGE" in 1935 and offered gambling in two separate buildings. Operated as the "New Cal-Vada Lodge" in 1951 until finally closing down in 1955. Went on to become the "Bal Tabarin" later that same year. Today's chips are considered their 2nd issue from 1948.
