so you can see the faintly bevelled edge of the inlay.
Also there are two other different samples.
The Caesars is made just like the chip above and then has a clear 'lens' inlay over the print bringing it up to a dead flush surface like a crest and seal.
The Trump Plaza has no recess but the finished effect (designed to look like a clay I suppose) is the opposite. The center inlay part is regular satin finish but the outside is highly polished.
None of these related to any orders provided and were with misc stuff so I have to think that again this was John experimenting with things himself rather than for the casinos (who probably didnt even know about it )
For that reason Ive kept them for my samples collection.
They are all one-offs. No duplicates.
Another long-time collector I showed these to said that when John used to have booths at the expo's and convention he had these chips on display. Some of them were still in display cases when we acquired them.
BTW, just to confuse everyone, none of this material is from the big notched chipco collection at all.
