... well not really BUT...
Each week I list 50 or so common chips on . All part of my continued and seemingly never ending "Going Out of Business Sale". There are lots of times when the no-longer-redeemable chips sell for less than face value but that's OK. I'm getting rid of inventory, making collectors happy and turning somewhat worthless pieces of clay into at least a little cash. But this week in particular there are three lots that just might make me break down and shed a small tear . All 50 of these auction end tonight starting at 9 PM East Coast time.
Take this fifty-cent incused diecar Jerry's Nugget chip. The sucker books for $25-$29 yet it's sitting right now at $1.37. While I don't expect it to sell for anywhere close to $25 you'd think someone would be willing to pay more than a buck for it:

Or take this set of Ramada Express Back to the 40's Set. I know I paid $60 in face for the twelve $5 chips BUT the real expensive and time consuming part was that they released them one per month for twelve months requiring the 190 mile round trip trek to Laughlin each month to get them. Right now the auction is sitting at $25.49.

Or how 'bout this one.... a rack of 100 Resort at Summerlin $1 chips. I paid $100 for them but the auction is only at $31.00. You'd think these would be worth even a half buck a piece at this point? But maybe not...

Remember, each week you can see all 50 of our auction lots by simply typing http://StartsAtFace.com into your browser. Why that URL? Because we always start all of our auctions at or BELOW face value with NO reserve and as they say... "let the chips fall where they may". Well, that's enough of my whining. Take a look and if you win something that sells for less than I even paid for it I am pleased knowing that it is going into a collection where it will be enjoyed and not just taking up room in my lonely, dark safe.
Thanks for looking and as always, Happy Chippin'!
Dave
