Cale,
First, please notice that I post as Pam G., I choose not to use my full name. I've only used my full name on the Chipboard if it's required for a contest that I want to enter...and I've passed on many contests because they required that entrants post their full name. And I'm pretty sure that the chipboard wouldn't allow a post with no name .
You'll see that I'm credited as author of several articles on the CCTN site...I've actually asked that my name be changed from my full name to Pam G. That has been done on some articles, not on others.
I'm sure it sounds odd to many people, but if someone google's my name I'd rather not have 5000 chipboard posts and 10,000 casino collectibles show up as a result of the search. Many of the articles that I've written include personal anecdotes...anecdotes that I'm happy to share with a few thousand fellow chippers, not with the millions of people who have internet access.
As for someone else being credited for an item that I submitted...read my initial post again. I didn't submit the scan, but we own the item. I tried to make it very clear that I have no problem with any of my scans being on the Chip Guide...I was questioning the practice of allowing someone else's name to be on my item.
I'm glad you're happy to have your name on the Chip Guide as a contributor, and that it helped you make friends and contacts. And I'm happy to hear another point of view. And, as I said in my initial post..."since it does say "contributed by" (not "owned by") I guess I can get over it....but....???"
And, once again, let me make it clear that I'm not complaining about the Chip Guide, it's an amazing resource that continues to improve as more scans are added. Charles and the administrators work hard to make it great. Does that mean I can't question anything about it...really...??
