Ive had tons of my scans used in the past without my knowledge and many have no contributor or someone elses name.
[although I add there are also many listed under my name that I did give permission for]
The problem is that some of the scans in question were not mine, and the owner did not give permission, but even though that was clear someone came along and stole them anyway.
Add that to the fact I was listed as the contributor of hundreds of the chips before Greg's chipguide was taken over where that reference has disappeared.
Ive taken this up both within our own BoD and the MOGH to no avail.
Have you read this?

This insinuates that they can steal the scans and then claim copyright over them. Club Counsel unbelievably says that is true.
The law over digital images in the form of scans is pretty clear. Whoever made the scan owns it, end of story. They can give someone else the right to use the scan but can never re-assign the ownership.
The excuse I was given was that once the scan has been cropped and straightened etc. for chipguide it is no longer the same scan so that doesn't count. My lawyer says that is the biggest load of BS he ever heard.
Yes I am pissed about this, and if it is not straightened out I might have to think hard about allowing my scans to stay up there.
