These BOLO chips are cited in the Herz Crest and Seal book and in the USPC Co. sample-order volumes, but no collector had any till I acquired some, all I know of. One set is in my collection; another set went to another collector, and left over for sale (on eBay probably) are one set of three, 3 whites and 3 reds. I never saw any blues.
Can anyone identify them? The chips were ordered by C. Z. Seelig Co, Wallace, Idaho, in 1929, probably for a customer. Seelig was in the bottled liquids (seltzer, alcohol, etc.), tobacco and confectionery business and perhaps others. They ordered from USPC Co the Wallace 331 BPOE chips.
"BOLO" has many meanings (see below). Probably the most common uses for the term are:
A long, heavy, single-edged machete (Wikipedia).
A string or leather necktie secured with an ornamental slide (Wikipedia).
A request for law enforcement officers to Be On the Lookout for a suspect.
An amber slide necklace aka the anti bolo (last picture)
