I would be using my 13 year old Microtek 4800 scanner if I was still living in Hawaii. I sold it when I moved.
I had regret selling it. After buying my Epson the regret disappeared and it was replaced with a smile. The old scanner took awhile to "warm" up, the Epson takes less than a minute. Scanning is much easier now than before.
I think "Cousin Albert" bought the newest model, an Epson V-37. Maybe he can give you a review.
Make sure you choose a CCD type scanner, not a CIS type.
