many chips sort of this way. I also put the chip inside a hot coffee card board holder I get with my coffee at 7-11. Staying green I reuse the coffee holder as a chip protector. As far as I know I have never had one returned or broken. I do this with only common lower value chips. Postage is normally .81 cents because it is a bit thicker this way.
