of the staple, push them back through and remove. However, sometimes the folded over prongs are buried into the cover. To loosen them up, insert the blade between the two match combs at the location of the staple. Slightly wiggle the blade to force the prongs up and then go to the first process. Keep in mind that this effort is not an attempt to fully remove the staple, but to make the prongs accessible for lifting from the outside of the cover.
