What you say would all be true if a seller knew
the definition of the RARE word and misused it in
their description with intent to dupe the buyer.
If a person does not know the definition of a word
they use incorrectly (and mean no harm to others
by using it), then "education" would be in
order... and not calling attention to the readers
of this board by broadcasting: "Hey, get a load of
this RARE Atlantic City chip."
I'm not going to debate the definition of the RARE
word, but I will continue to state that it is
mostly misused for a lack of a better word (as
described above).
Yes, there may be crooks out there who we may know
are using the RARE word freely and on purpose, and
yes it wouldn't hurt to call the attention of
others to this type of practice as a warning.
