would do. I would either submit it to what I thought was right with a big explanation under comments, or submit it as a UFC with the explanation in the comments. Or, if you know the administrator for the appropriate geographic zone, you can simply e-mail them and ask what they suggest you do. Finally, you could contact the people who made the conflicting attributions and ask where their attribution came from given that there is a conflicting attribution out there. I have done this with an Oregon chip and resolved the conflict in my mind (one person had a shaky attribution based upon shakier data and the other had distributor records).
I can certainly understand your reluctance, though, in that situation. I'm just trying to be a cheerleader for the chip guide. I hope it came off that way.
