I was here then, but somehow missed this thread. Thanks. This one I can actually tell you something about. My father-in-law was a carpenter who moved to Vegas in the late 1940s. He worked on many of the legendary casinos of the day. He also had a penchant for gambling, especially craps. Later in life, he played the machines for the free, shall we say "refreshments"! He was a hell of a guy, and I only wish that I had known him better - he passed away a couple of years after my wife and I married. Anyway, when we were cleaning out his place, this chip was among the things that I found in the trash to be chunked out! That and his union card for Del Webb properties, and a bunch of other stuff. In my older age (65), I find that I don't need to keep all of these sentimental objects (my wife feels the same way). So here it is. After seeing S. Bedo's post (BTWthank you Steve), I'll probably list the chip with a starting price of $50 and we'll see where it goes to. I'll put a link to the auction here if anyone's interested in the chip.
