I think there are a number of good ideas that have been raised, and I am sure that the BOD do discuss most of these issues, even if we don't always hear about the discussions.
However, and it dismays me to say so, the combination of not knowing the output from the discussions, and the negative feedback that many comments receive (both publically and I suspect personally, as I have received direct emails in the past) means that I am sure a lot of comments that are perceived to be against the established view tend to no longer get aired although I greatly respect those that do make such comments where people believe them to be valid, as do I respect the public comments that disagree.
Debate is good, but only when criticism is constructive, and there seems to be too much lately that is not constructive.
Personally I am going to take a break from posting - I will probably advise when I have found some new chips or have some auctions running, which are completely factual issues and have no opinion, but I think it will be more interesting to read the magazine, trade a few chips (which includes for me selling some to enable me to buy others) and just read the posts around road trips, new discoveries and other factual issues. The debates about what should or shouldn't happen around collecting I need to avoid for a while as I find they are detracting from my interest in the hobby. I hope that will change.
So, for anyone interested, I am going to post some Vegas $1 chips for sale this weekend. http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/jdskinner123/m.html?item=360705206476&ssPageName=STRK%3AMESELX%3AIT&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562
I also have some new Gentings UK chips from one of their smaller casinos in Margate. Happy to discuss if anyone needs one (just email me)
