I have no doubt that there are past issues on both sides and have no desire to rehash anything. But I have to feel that having people like Sahara Coins, Rene, Steve Cutler and Rich Burgel as active proponents of our Club and hobby might be part of the answer to expanding our membership. Once again I don't want to raise any debates on the past. I certainly don't speak for these people. I'm just arguing for inclusiveness.
As an example, Rich Burgel runs the Old Vegas collectibles shop next door to the famous Pawn Stars. He gets a lot of overflow walk-ins. For many people this is their introduction to casino collectibles. Many years ago he arranged for the mayor: Oscar Goodman, Bob Stupak and the comedian Steve Rossi to speak at one of our convention banquets. Today, for reasons that I know little about, he's distanced himself from the Club. Imagine if he was active. What if he had a plastic display on his counter with Club applications and convention information.
For the third time, I don't want to start anything or offend anyone. I think the subject is ways to expand our membership for little or no expense.
