Re: Westen ...at "30-40k" a year salary ...

John; In another thread you posted the following; "90% of the funds paid for membership go to cover the cost of the magazine." which I do not dispute.

However, if the club is contemplating paying a professional "ED" $30-$40 A YEAR salary as Westen has proposed ... and IF this "ED" somehow through his/her efforts is going to attract 1000 to 1500 new members each year paying $30 dues each ... that doesn't come anywhere near justification of the club creating such a position with 90% going to the cost of the magazine. I have zero background in accounting, so I'm just an ordinary club member that says; no way can the club afford an "ED" ... museum or no museum. I don't know what other club members think (most of them are reluctant to post comments either way) ... but my layman's feeling is that the club would need 10,000 or more dues-paying members on the membership roster each year just to pay the proposed "ED"'s exhorbitant salary... not to mention the "ED"'s publicity budget and any staff members required.
