GREAT QUESTIONS!
What duties would this "ED" be doing that one or more of our currently elected officers can not do?
Be a point person for the club's business. Manage things like Fundraising, Promotion, and honoring the Mission.
Basically they will organize the business and do most of the work that the BOD
does not have time to do.
Hard to put it all together here, but I'll refer you to the link I posted earlier: A BOD IS NOT ED
http://www.nami.org/Content/NavigationMenu/NAMI_Center_for_Excellence/Tools_for_Excellence/BoardvsEDroles.pdf
Would this "ED" be appointed by the current club President, or elected by the membership?
The BOD hires the ED. They create the job description and interview applicants.
Would each newly elected club President appoint or re-appoint an "ED"?
No, The Board is the Board, The ED works for the Board.
Who would the "ED" take direction from? I don't see it being a situation of (TAKE DIRECTION)
The ED works closely with the BOARD CHAIR.
Who would the "ED" report to?
BOARD CHAIR/BOARD
How much compensation would this "ED" title be paid?
Full time position, I could see 30-40K
Would there be an employee contract offered for the "ED" and for what duration?
ED is reviewed yearly by the board. Could be a yearly contract.
Can the "ED" be dismissed at any time?
Board crafts the contract, could be what ever they want.
Are you interested in taking on the "ED" position if it were offered?
I think it would be fun actually... but at this time I have a full time Job and we need someone that has
exceptional organizational skills (better than mine).
