thoroughly this past year. We got prices from one or two Strip properties that had facilities to accomodate our convention -- they were all much more expensive than the South Point. And I really don't agree with the "walk-in" theory as most convention areas are so far away from the actual Strip, that I don't believe that people would actually make that trek to & from an convention area located at the rear of these hotels. One of the only good things about the Riviera was that there was a parking structure in the back by the convention area, so that made it easier for people to notice our convention. To me, we would see far less "locals" if we moved to the Strip because parking & traffic & pedestrians are such a hassle on the Strip. I would guess that it would take less time & energy for a Las Vegas local to get to the South Point, park & walk to our show than it would to do the same at most of the Strip properties.
