Where you place the chip on the glass scanner bed determines how the chip is scanned.
Here are three chips that were placed in different positions:

If you don't want the edges of the chip to show then the chip must be placed near the middle of the glass bed. Everyone has their own preferences.
I don't circle crop and like mine with the edge showing so I place the chip near the edge of the glass bed:

I have a V33 also but with an A4 size (metric) glass bed.
