Another option is to see if there is an ISP company in the area that operates via broadcast WiFi at 900 Mhz. We have a new start-up here in Tucson called Simply Bits. They use WiFi at 900 Mhz, broadcast by towers to dish-like devices mounted to subscriber houses. This is a line-of-sight system that transmits both ways between the dish-like device and the towers.
