I have a Vizio xwr100 $30 from Walmart on clearance. I was going to buy an expensive one at Best Buy for $150+. (Having worked in electronics years ago I have a bad habit of buying top of the line/most expensive in whatever I'm looking for). This $30 one had the same features as the $150 unit and works great. Much better wireless signal than the default provided by my internet company. I was really expecting it to be crap and return it. But 2 years later very happy.
I wanted to upgrade again recently. Not for better signal, but for the option to plug in a hard drive and share it across all my wirelss phones, laptops, tablets. The expert at Best Buy asked me why I wanted yo spend $150 on a router. I said to get the "hard drive sharing feature". He told me my Vizio at home had that feature so I had no need to spend money on another router. I was arguing with him to give me the best/most expensive router so I could buy it. He said I honestly can't take your money knowing full well your router at home has what you need. I was pissed, but he was right...lol.
Moral = don't have to spend big bucks
