I got a chance on Tuesday prior to the convention to visit the Neon Museum which is on the Strip about a quarter mile north of Fremont Street. The museum is essentially finished with the old La Concha Motel office as the visitor's center. My tour guide was very knowledgable (on previous tours I had to hold my tongue and not correct the guide.) He wasn't aware of our convention and said he would stop by on Saturday.
Anyway...today I got an email from the Museum. They are hosting a panel discussion on July 11th at 7 PM on "The Showgirls of the Stardust" at the Museum. Admission is free with a suggested $5 donation. Reservations are required. I gather this is the first of a series of panels on old Vegas. More info at the Neon Museum website.
