I worked for Lincoln Fitzgerald, who owed Nevada Club --Reno and Nevada Lodge N. Lake Tahoe, & Fitzgeralds Reno- from 1972-80 when I went on to Atlantic City to work & open the Brighton in AC-Sands.
After a few years Lincoln took a lik'en to me and I have posted many, many post to my experience and the experience "Fitz" thought me.
He worked for the Purple Gang in Detroit for many years-Lincoln was the "numbers man" for them.
Fitz had a falling out with his employer[ The Purple Gang] who ran the Chesterfield Club in Detroit-there are many of the CC chips around now that were used at that location. Matter of FACT Fitz use to bring out the OLD CC plain used as a $1 when he was low on the "Ike " $1 on long weekend ends.
Aprox 1945-46 Fitz [according t him[after the WW!! ended] moved out on his own-he told me he and his FAITHFUL employees worked the Cincy area as well as Stumpville [sp] before moving to Atlantic City-these were all illegal and to me is only here-say- Fitz then moved to Reno, buying the Nevada Club.
Approx 1948 Lincoln took a double barrel shot- as the Reno Gazette will STATE he took many $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ from his former Purple Gang to start the Nevada Club in Reno. FITZ TOLD ME SOME OF THIS- IS IT TRUE???????-the Reno Paper says it was because of the Gang's code --if you live you have PAID your debit and Fitz did drag one foot as he walked as long as I knew him.
To answer your questions-the part of History I have just disclosed- may or may NOT be true-I would like you to contact Gene Trimble to see what his input may be.
As for the pocket knife please send me a scan and what you would like $$$$$$ wise.
