I've posted this view of the "moneyclip" chips from Tropicana several times in the past. Happened to check TCR 15 to see how it now reads. There are still only 5 varieties in TCR, vs. 7 that I know of. I see there is one new TCR number but it doesn't match any of those I have, and I suspect it was added with an error.
I haven't seen a SMCRWN version with a blank reverse; but I have seen a H&C version with a blank reverse. I show a H&C where someone scraped off the No Cash Value legend, but the blank one to the left of it is blank from birth. The surface texture is normal pebbled, like the rest of the chip. I suspect TCR E2901 which is shown as SMCRWN was supposed to be entered as a H&C mold.
The SMCRWN chip with red fountain and "Souvenir No Value" on the reverse inlay is still not in TCR as far as I can see.
The one this NCR collector has marked "modified" may not qualify for TCR listing, but since other chips in TCR with scratched off hotstamps are listed, I suggest this on should be too for completeness. Maybe call it TCR N3823.D as with the Binions Horseshoe chips with Binions scratched off?
My scan is marked with the numbers I think apply. I haven't tried to show where E2901 should go as I've never seen one and think it is a typo in TCR.
If anyone has still another version of this green chip, let's see it!
