The try to split the remaining plastic off the token kind of worked. A chunk came off and now the token is fully exposed on one side and about 1/4 exposed on the other. Still very strongly held in place by the plastic, though.

I went to TAP Plastics today and talked to Plastic Man. He said that nothing really dissolved cured resin, but putting it in a bowl of MEK for a day could work. So that's where it is now.

He offered to band saw a slot nearly to the token so I could try the split operation again, but I didn't trust him not to damage the token, and he wanted me to sign a waiver. If the solvent doesn't work, I'll do the manual hack saw operation again.

So far, no plastic is even starting to soften .
