Hey Everyone,

Fred was admitted to the hospital last night following a fall. He is doing fine right now, however, he has broken ribs 5-9 and 6&7 are broken in two places. We drove down to the casino to get a “free gift” and he went in just to get the gift and went around the corner of the fountain, the floor was wet and he fell landing on the retaining wall around the fountain. When he went down he fell full-on the retaining wall. I took him to the urgent care and they determined he had at least 2 broken ribs and wanted him transferred to the hospital. So the EMS came and got him took him the community hospital. He had a CT scan of his chest and head (to make sure there was no subdural hematoma) and found he had the rib fractures. At that point they feared he may have some significant pulmonary issues and wanted him transferred to Tampa General since it is a trauma facility. The ER doc stated the level of injury indicated made him a level one trauma victim. So the EMS came and got him to transfer him to Tampa General. There he had a CT of his spleen, however that was negative. The CT of his chest also showed a large contusion to his left lung,

At this point he is fine other than in an incredible amount of pain. I have no idea how long he will be in the hospital or his rehab. But I will keep you all posted and keep him in your prayer.
