Al had some great ideas and he sounds like a man that has "been there, done that". I have thought most of those things as well but could never have put them so eliquently....
Two things that he mentioned that I think are vitally inportant. 1st - Promoting the hobby first and foremost. You will not get people to join the club before being a collector. Use the club funds and resources to promote chip collecting, not promote the club. 2nd - Attracting young members. I truly don't mean any offense but their seem to be very few young people in the hobby. I am in my thirties (for a little while longer anyway...) and I don't see too many others my age or younger. If we don't get the next generation involved in collecting chips....the hobby will be lost.
