to the post office (it's an annex that I use all the time because the guy that works there is great) & it was over $2. Then right in front of him, I put it in a 6 x 9 manila envelope, gave it back to him & asked him how much -- $1.07 or $1.12 or something right in there. It's considered machinable inside the envelope & not a package as long as it doesn't exceed the thickness requirement. I've sent out at least 100 that way with only one or two that came back requiring additional postage. I don't deal with the main post office in my town any more because, basically, they're idiots.
