I think that site is what generated the answer to my post back in 2010. The mention of "maybe the gold plating is worn off" does not seem reasonable to me, as the sharp brass token has no wear, and there's no remnant of gold on the piece.

It still seems to me that these are either different material, or on is from an earlier stage in production (like not yet plated). I have yet to weigh them to get an idea of whether they are the same material.

Thanks for the reference. Does Roy Mode read this bulletin board? I wonder if his catalog numbers bear any relation to the chip and token numbers used on the Museum of Gaming History site.
