Whenever I go into Stratosphere, I put on the same face as I do with every other casino I want chips from. Very nice. Always tip the cashiers well. The Strat will go in the back and get me all the chips I want.
Palms, same story. Hell, the woman put the chips in a sandwich baggie for me so the chips would be protected on the flight back to Boise!
New York New York. When the woman at the cage saw the tip I gave her, she pulled out 3 racks of chips and went through each one individually so she could find me the latest chips. I walked out of there with nice haul, and the woman at the cage was thrilled that I basically paid for tomorrow's lunch!
But the Gold Spike. That was a different story. The Spike & the MGM Grand are the two NASTIEST casinos to get a chip from. I was told at the MGM that "I cannot look for a chip for you, I can only give you the next chip in my pile."
Last time I went to the Spike, there were MAYBE 10 people in the entire casino. It was early afternoon on a Wednesday. Safe to say there wasn't a line. I was just looking for one variation, and promised the woman she would get a nice big tip if she would help me. Nope. You can get them off the tables I was told. OK, when do the tables open. Well, maybe they might be open on Friday. But it's Wednesday!!
Now, if the tables are open, and it's 10:30pm and I'm wanting a variation, I can understand why they would say I don't have time. But how am I supposed to get a chip when they advise I get one off the tables, and the tables aren't open?
I'm with Chuck about the Gold Spike. About as friendly as a Mama Bear when you're messing with her cubs!! No wonder few people who had all their teeth went in there to gamble!
