Re: Ebay sellers charging exorbitant shipping fees

The shipping fees are one of the first things I look at when I find something I want on Ebay. If the charges are too high, I just move on. Free shipping has always been a major draw for me to auctions.

As a Seller, I have been charging $1.50 for many years. I ship First Class USPS in a padded envelope. I use Stamps.com which keeps me from having to go to the Post Office. My mail lady just picks them up from my house. I know it doesn't cover the cost but it keeps people buying at my auctions.

Also, it is hard to place a value on "time" for many. I'm retired so it doesn't matter as much to me!

ebay charges a commission
You have to calculate the total cost of the item
