Castaways "Osborne Counterfeit" Chips Question

This is my first post on here. I am new to the world of casino chip collecting. I just read David Spragg's research article on Osborne Counterfeit Chips. My question --> Am I correct in taking away from this article that all Castaways chips WITHOUT a spun metal insert are counterfeit?

I recently purchased Castaways Sportsbook $500 and $1000 Chips on eBay and neither has a a metal insert with concentric circles. These chips also have sharp edges and appear to be uncirculated. Are they counterfeit? (All of my other Castaways chips with metal inserts do have concentric circles and the edges are slightly rounded).

Also one final question --> Are David Spragg's research articles generally accepted gospel, or do some people disagree with him?

Thank you so much! - Martin
