some other time in the future. Most of the NCV chips are used in tournaments and if you could just buy them and then add them to your stack, it would present an unfair advantage. Some other NCV chips are sent or made available to players based upon their play or rewards. Roulette chips are also considered NCV chips & the casino's concern is that you remove them while playing at an inexpensive cost per chip and then re-introducing them when the table minimum is higher.

As a side note, if you are caught stealing NCV chips from a tournament, you would most likely be banned from playing in any future tournaments in that casino (and possibly others).
