If you weren't bored to tears already about this... here is some more. Thanks to everyone that helped.
My "more"post from last week:

And the "even more" below:
Cheek was definitely involved with gambling in
Burlington. In the late 1950’s and early 1960’s he purchased Federal wagering tax stamps, always listing his
address as Route 7, Burlington (the same address on the chip order card).
Cheek, who was born in 1921, was involved in criminal activities from the time he was a teenager. When he was 19 he and
a few other guys went to a neighboring town one night, kidnapped the only policeman on duty and proceeded to rob
several businesses. In the late 1940’s he was involved in heroin trafficking. Cheek sold heroin to an undercover Federal
agent in North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Maryland and in New Orleans, where he was arrested. He did time in the Federal Pen
in Atlanta. In 1955, not long after he got out of the pen, he was arrested in Texarkana, Arkansas for breaking into a doctor’s
office (presumably to acquire narcotics). In 1958 he was arrested in Burlington on a gambling charge. It was around this time
that he started purchasing the wagering stamps.
Apparently Cheek was was a very highly regarded pool player. At some point he he opened a place called Nappy’s Cue Lounge.
The place is doing business now as Nappy’s Sports Bar. Nappy was Nathan Cheek’s nickname. His widow still owns the
property; he was married to a different woman when he ordered the chips in 1960.
Also, a band recorded a song called “Nappy’s Cue Lounge” which you can listen to here:
