Gene, do not know what to tell you. The "OO" was on Block 16, but was in the city, have not checked minutes of the Las Vegas City Commission to see if they granted Van a license. As far as the Rooster, all I have to go on are my notes from the county minutes granting the place a license plus a page one story in the April 1, 1931 issue of the Las Vegas Review Journal, which reads in part, "the county board at the morning meeting granted licnees to the following establsiments: Red Rooster, Northern Club, Las Vegas Club, Big Four Club, Exchange Club, Raingow Club, Meadows casion. The city board will meeting next week to consider appalcaitons for eleven resorts for city licnees." A story inDecember 8, 1932 issue of the Las Vegas Age, page one stateds "the county license board, consisting of the sheriff, chairman, the district attorney and members of the board of county commissioners, met yesterday afternoon to consider applications for gaming licenes. The application of the Red Rooster was ordered issued." That is all I have as far as 'documents."
