I'm looking at a Paul-son color sample chart (back
cover of Howdy's first book) and holding it up to
your scan. If your chip is purple, I suggest you
buy a new scanner, because what I see is far
from "purple" on the chart and extremely close to
a "maroon" which is between a "chocolate" and
"mauve" on the chart. If I had to call the color
I wold say the chip you show is a
"maroonish-mauve" and far, far away from purple.

Whatever you're doing to procure the chips for
your collection, you're doing it right, as you've
displayed some pretty nice stuff in the short time
you've been collecting.
